Generator Guru says:
If the recoil wheel has broken on the original, then it is advisable to check the oil level. If there is too much oil in the engine it will also change the compression ratio. Remove any excess oil.
If you oil the rope with petroleum jelly it will stop the rope from fraying.
If you are having issues starting the Generator, why not open a support ticket with one of our Generator Engineers. It should be easy to pull over the engine.

It is just exactly what I needed to fix my generator. Solidly built. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is that it looked like it had been slid across something, and there were a few small marks on it. I already installed it on my generator, and it went on without any issues. I am very happy.
