Replacement Ignition Switch comes complete with 2 keys.

This generator has been produced with different wiring looms over the years.  You will need to remove your original switch to determine the number of wires required. There is a choice of 5 or 7 wire Ignition Switches available.

See instructions for changing the Ignition Switch below.

Generator Guru says:

If you have lost your Keys, or your ignition switch is broken, this is the part you need. (Keys are not available separately from this manufacturer.)

To fit the new Ignition Switch, undo the control panel from the front and carefully pivot the control panel down, being sure not to pull any wires out. From the front of the panel grip the outer part of the Ignition Switch and undo the collar anticlockwise until the retainer comes off. Push the remaining part of the Ignition Switch through the panel and locate the wiring connector block. On the connector block push down the retaining tab and pull the connection apart.

Fit new Ignition switch by reversing the above process, but be sure no other wires behind the control panel have worked lose during the process, as this will affect the generator running correctly.

I was amazed when a novice like me can get a problem solved so easily.

I bought a generator without a key !!! What an idiot. So I googled parts for generators and Generator Guru popped up. I saw the exact part that I needed (ignition switch with keys) but still could not quite believe that it could be so easy to get the part required. It arrived in a couple of days and took only a few minutes to fit and it worked perfectly. What a surprise and Thank You from someone who always expects to be ripped off.
