Description

Please Note when buying a replacement Generator AVR:

  1. If you only have 2 wires going to this part, you in fact have a capacitor fitted. Please click here to buy the correct product. (They look similar but are very different parts!)
  2. Not all AVR's are the same (though many look similar to each other). You must match the correct AVR to your Generator or you can damage your alternator.
  3. If your generator has any smoke or electrical burning smells from the alternator, or you have replaced the AVR/Capacitor for a second time, or just wish to test your Alternator to check there are no other faults. Our founder invented a new easier way to test all modern Portable Generators! No need for the manufacturer’s expected readings with “The Beagley Alternator Test” Technique.

This test also allows you to discount any other issues within the alternator and use a regular multi-meter to run the test. Allowing the testing and discounting of issues within the alternator without expensive equipment such as an AVR tester. It will guide you through testing and allow you to diagnose other problems that may exist in the alternator.

For Capacitor (brushless) Alternators, please skip the brushes parts of the test.

    Quality.

When my generator stopped putting out voltage I googled 'no voltage from generator' and up popped Generator Guru. I watched the informative video, did all the tests and came to the conclusion my problem was the AVR. The one point GG made was how most Chonda (my word) generators supply a 'D' grade AVR while their replacements are 'A' grade. I understand the process of some manufacturers to keep costs down. I purchased your AVR, installed it, fired up and it works perfectly. I can rest easy now for the coming winter here in Massachusetts. Thanks guys, you back up what you say.
