This part will wear out over time. It is used to conduct the current from the rotor to the AVR. Your brushes should protrude 13mm from the housing to make a stable connection with the rotor. Remove the brushes before measuring.

This is the only place I’ve found that carries parts for my generator. I’ve purchased brushes and a voltage regulator and both have been perfect for my unit.
After figuring out what the problem was, it was an easy fix to replace. Being home long enough to do the testing to figure out what was wrong took the longest time. Big thumps up for Generator Guru. OUTSTANDING TEAM
