This part will wear out over time. It is used to conduct the current from the rotor to the AVR. Your brushes should protrude 13mm from the housing to make a stable connection with the rotor. Remove the brushes before measuring.

I purchased two of these thinking I needed new brushes when my generator was acting up. They are 100% exact fit. Turned out I did not need new brushes, but very happy to have two spare sets. I have had great service and will buy all my Generator parts from them. Great service, and very useful and easy to navigate website when ordering parts.
