Generator Guru says:
If the recoil wheel has broken on the original, then it is advisable to check the oil level. If there is too much oil in the engine it will also change the compression ratio. Remove any excess oil.
If you oil the rope with petroleum jelly it will stop the rope from fraying.
If you are having issues starting the Generator, why not open a support ticket with one of our Generator Engineers. It should be easy to pull over the engine.

It cost about 3/5 of what I paid for the generator new, but it's better than the original and got me going again. Appears to be built with better materials. Hopefully it will last!

Which pinches a bit! Not necessarily a bad thing as it means that it won't come off in a hurry. Seriously: One bolt hole was a little off centre, but with the other 3 loosened off the last bolt went in without much of a struggle.
At least the genny can be started and a lot easier than with the previous replacement which wore out in less than a year due to the use of poor materials in its construction.
Delivery was as swift as promised so I can go 'wild' camping in my caravan again. Not wild? well I like my creature comforts even in the caravan - LCD TV, Freeview, Freesat, DVD, microwave, nearby pub and curry house, etc, etc!
