Generator Guru says:
If the recoil wheel has broken on the original, then it is advisable to check the oil level. If there is too much oil in the engine it will also change the compression ratio. Remove any excess oil.
If you oil the rope with petroleum jelly it will stop the rope from fraying.
If you are having issues starting the Generator, why not open a support ticket with one of our Generator Engineers. It should be easy to pull over the engine.

Thank you for all the help you gave me to repair my pressure washer with a new pull start recoil assembly . After all the looking on the internet for the part I needed and couldn't find,I came across your site. Although it's not a generator the engine is the same. You came up with the correct part for my little machine. Thanks again.
