Description
Replacement Ignition Controller CDI.
Generator Guru says:
The Ignition Controller CDI provides fault warnings and determines whether ignition will take place, it controls the ignition and is found on the control panel. Please see below for a short troubleshooting guide.
- If the generator is failing to start, firstly check for a spark. If there is a spark, then the problem is in the fuel system. If there isn't a spark then we advise reading on to determine which part of the ignition system has failed.
- Either, clean the spark plug before using a spark tester on the spark plug and or replace it, to rule this out.
- Next, check the oil level and then disconnect the Low Oil Sensor (by disconnecting the two wires that run from the base of the engine where the oil sensor is located) and then check for a spark. If there is a spark then the Low Oil Sensor has failed, if there is still no spark, then check for continuity across the Ignition Coil, its HT Lead, Spark Plug Cap and body. If the Ignition Coil checks OK, then replace the Ignition Controller CDI.
Also, if it's noticed that while the generator is functioning there is an AC output but no green output light showing, then check for an accurate AC output. If the AC output is accurate then replace the Ignition Controller CDI, if it is not accurate then examination of the inverter is advised (more information can be found on the inverter product listing.)
