The conducting metal on ignition coils are prone to rusting due to the metal components required for the production of a spark. The rusting can lead to the connection with the flywheel failing, resulting in a loss of spark. This is the part you will need to replace if this happens.

The product had a small bit of rust on it. But the part worked and the machine started. Was a good day!

The original coil/electronic ignition was faulty, still producing a weak spark but a non running engine. The new coil was easy to fit and the generator came back to life.
This was the problem and this product was very easy to install.
