This part sometimes fails when the diaphragm or the one way valve develops a fault, if it is the diaphragm, you will need to replace the choke assembly.

This was an otherwise hard to find part that has revived an old generator. The pop up suggesting the diaphragm to go with it proved to be right on as when I figured out what it was it had indeed also fallen to pieces. I have never fixed a generator before but was able to put in the parts fairly easily. The only thing that would have helped would be a diagram showing how to position the pin to the carb. I had to redo it when I realized nothing was moving when I worked the choke.
