This part will wear out over time. It is used to conduct the current from the rotor to the AVR. Your brushes should protrude 13mm from the housing to make a stable connection with the rotor. Remove the brushes before measuring.

after generator set for 3 years found generator Guru follow step by step repairs , ordered part, few days received, had generator going in less than 10 min. wished I would have found the Guru 3 years ago, fantastic!!!!!
