This part will wear out over time. It is used to conduct the current from the rotor to the AVR. Your brushes should protrude 13mm from the housing to make a stable connection with the rotor. Remove the brushes before measuring.

Perfect fit and worked as it should

Ordered this item and got it sent to Australia and received it in just over a week. Replaced the damaged original with this one without any modifications, (just plug and play). My generator was then up and running and operating as it should.
