Fuel Flowing past the needle at high speed and at pressure, which eventually wears the needle.
The locating grooves on the needle wears out.
As the needle moves up and down it can bend and the spring can wear.
This can cause problems such as your carb flooding, leaking fuel from the carb bowl, or the engine running incorrectly.

the Part requested(the pin inside the Carburetor) had gotten stuck.
tried everything I could think of.
even went to a couple small engine repair shops. even they had no idea. found the part here; ordered it; AFC that point I was able to break the old one out, clean up the seat; install.
the generator is back up and running.
other then waiting 7 + day to get the part; everything else was simple
